Major Career Accomplishments:
Dr. Kwan held faculty positions at Heidelberg University, Georgia Southern University, and University of Rhode Island. Dr. Kwan taught general music and choirs at elementary and middle school levels in Hong Kong before she came to the US. She also taught general music and choirs in New Jersey after completing her master degree at Westminster Choir College. Dr. Kwan conducted and performed with choral ensembles in Hong Kong, Vienna, and the United States. At Taylor University, Dr. Kwan serves as the director of music education. Dr. Kwan’s research interest focuses on students’ motivation and participation in vocal/choral music; music teacher preparation, and multicultural music in the music curriculum. Her research has been presented at national and state conferences and published in national music education journals.
