Why I Love Teaching At Taylor:
I was attracted to Taylor because of its reputation as being one of the top liberal arts colleges of its size in the Midwest and of Taylor’s focus on whole person education. I am excited by the opportunities to teach talented students and work with them on challenging, real world problems. In addition, the small classroom size for engineering courses makes Taylor a great environment for learning. I enjoy getting to know students and being able to adjust the curriculum to account for students’ interests.
Advice to Incoming Students:
Be disciplined and control your schedule so that your schedule doesn’t control you.
I grew up near the Rocky Mountains and I have always enjoyed hiking and observing the beauty of plants and animals along the way. In Indiana, I enjoy the diversity of birds and trees that can be observed from walking on campus and around town. I especially appreciate these activities because I am able to share the experience with my family. I have been an avid runner since participating in high school athletics, and I particularly fond of running on the country roads around campus. I also enjoy a wide variety of music, and I am currently teaching myself to play guitar.
