Swallow Robin Hall

Swallow RobinOne of the oldest buildings on Taylor's campus, Swallow Robin Hall is also rich in tradition. A family atmosphere is readily apparent in this renovated home to 27 men and 43 women.

Student rooms follow a traditional format lining each side of a central corridor. The rooms, both double and triple in variety (with the majority of in triple rooms housing freshmen students) are fully carpeted, air-conditioned and furnished with the following for each student:

  • a bed
  • dresser
  • desk
  • chair
  • closet space

There is a common lounge, kitchen area, study room and television area on the lower level of the residence hall. Swallow is located on the north side of campus on Reade Avenue.

Kendall Stanislav, Graduate Director - Swallow Robin Hall Kendall Stanislav

My name is Kendall Stanislav, and I am the Hall Director in Swallow Robin.  In addition to serving as Hall Director, I am in the first year of a two-year Master of Arts in Higher Education program here at Taylor.  I am coming from the northwest corner of Iowa, where I served as a youth director for the last 3+ years.  Prior to my work at the church, I was a student at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, where I had the pleasure of working for a year as a Resident Assistant and another year as the Assistant Hall Director.

Swallow Robin is a coed residence hall that is home to two floors of women and one floor of men.  I certainly can relate to that male/female ratio since I am living with my wonderful wife, Ashley, and our beautiful daughter Madyson (she was born in June of 2008).  We enjoy being with people and are looking forward to living with 70 students in such a big house.

I am excited to experience the family feeling that Swallow offers and to work with the three PAs to ensure that the hospitality and family feelings continue.  I want this to be a place where students feel known and where they know those around them; a place where we can see and celebrate the diversity of God's creation and where we can encourage each other as we make attempts to live more and more like Christ.
