Olson Hall
Olson Hall is the largest residence hall on campus housing 297 women on three floors. It is the only residence hall where students can build lofts to maximize space.
Arranged in a traditional format, the rooms line each side of a central corridor. Olson is one of two buildings on campus in which students can build lofts to maximize space. Each room is equipped with:
- a bed
- desk
- chair
- closet space
Floors are tile and most students bring their own carpeting. It is often possible to purchase made-to-fit carpeting from previous residents of the room.
The main lounge on the first floor offers a fireplace and television. In addition to the main lounge, there are auxiliary lounges on the second and third floors with kitchen facilities and study areas.
Olson is located on the south side of campus across the street from English Hall. Olson does not have an elevator or air conditioning.
"Living in Olson Hall has given me the chance to develop relationships with so many wonderful girls. You are constantly surrounded by people that are committed to growing closer in their walk with God." - Rachel Clemens '06
Deanna Ingerham, Olson Hall Director
My name is Deanna Ingerham and I serve as the Olson Hall Director. I graduated from Taylor University in 2003, where I studied Psychology and participated in the Irish Studies Program. After graduating, I served as a Hall Director at Malone College and then attended Wheaton College Graduate School, earning an M.A. in Clinical Psychology in May 2007. I am excited to be back at Taylor, serving in such a unique role as Hall Director. My passion is to see college women experience their relationship with Christ and their relationships with each other deepen. The Assistant Hall Director and I, together with sixteen Personnel Assistants, are here to see true covenant community take place in Olson Hall. This happens through laughter, learning, intramurals, prayer, wing activities - basically, living life together.
A little about me, I love coffee - both the beverage itself and the opportunity it gives for conversation with others. I enjoy road trips, spontaneity, jogging, walks, canoeing, hiking, and reading. I take pleasure in being outside in God's creation and enjoy spending time near/on bodies of water (including Taylor Lake).

Jennifer Hillier, Olson Assistant Hall Director
My name is Jennifer Hillier and I serve as the Olson Assistant Hall Director. I am a 2005 graduate of Taylor with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. I'm originally from Fremont, Ohio, but Taylor has become my new home. I've had the opportunity to experience many different aspects of the Taylor community during my four years here including intramurals, music, missions, study abroad and much more. During my time as a student I participated in the Irish Studies Program where I traveled, learned, and experienced new cultures. I enjoy movies, travel, learning about people's random quirks and a pick-up game of just about anything.
I'm excited to be back at Taylor to serve the women of Olson. It is my desire to see them grow in a true understanding of Christ love and grace. To better know the grace of God and grace that can be shown to one another. I hope to be an encouragement to the women of Olson as they develop intellectually, relationally and spiritually. I am looking forward to the friendships and fun that are sure to be found in this community.
