TEXAS HURRICANE RELIEF - GOOD NEWS GALVESTON - CARPENTER'S HANDS
Taylor World Outreach's Carpenter's Hands will be working on a construction and building project in a Geveston, Texas, helping with hurricane relief. You will spend 5 days on the worksite, usually building from 8-4. Projects may include framing, siding, painting, roofing, cleaning, or whatever they ask us to do! Evenings will include devotional/small group time and several city activities. As the opportunity arises we will also partner with churches in the area to meet their needs as well as their members.
CHICAGO - SUNSHINE GOSPEL MINISTRIES
A part of Sunshine Gospel Ministries in Chicago, Bridge Builders gives students an opportunity to spend a week learning more about God's heart for the poor while serving in various ministry sites around the city. This trip will give you practical experiences in urban ministry in the afternoons and evenings, after spending the mornings in Bible study and discussion. Bridge Builders desires to give you a better understanding of how the poor are an essential part of the body of Christ.
Daytona Beach is one of the most popular Spring Break destinations in the US, especially among college students and young adults. Here, you will spend your days at a community park right off the beach. Through simply providing free food, playing volleyball, and just hanging out, you will have the opportunity to build relationships and discuss your faith with hundreds of your peers from all walks of life.
DEARBORN, MICHIGAN - Muslim Outreach
We are working with an organization that reaches out to the surrounding Arab Muslim population. This trip will give you the opportunity to participate in mission outreach, evangelism, and learning about Islam and Middle Eastern culture in a uniquely hands-on immersion setting within the heart of the community, through group settings and personal, one-to-one encounters and relationships. If you go on this trip, you will assist the organization in their various programs such as English (ESL) classes, childcare, sewing classes, Computer classes, after-school tutoring, work projects, and interacting one-on-one with Arab Muslims.
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC - STUDENTS INTERNATIONAL
Students International has a unique focus on providing challenging cross-cultural experiences, specifically for students, through occupational ministry opportunities. While staying at their base in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, you will have the opportunity to serve in a variety of settings at various locations nearby, using your specific passions and skills. Ministry site focuses include art, education, construction, drama, music, puppetry, and sports, among others.
EL SALVADOR - WORLD GOSPEL MISSION
This trip will be working with missionaries David and Debbie Hawk in the town of Jucuapa. The type of ministry done on this trip will range from construction work on the new medical clinic, running ministry programs for children in schools, and also working with the Hawk's church in doing drama, puppet, and music presentations.
JORDAN AND EGYPT - TAYLOR SOUNDS
This trip is for members of the Taylor Sounds as a concert/missions trip to Jordan and Egypt.
Every year, the Upland Lion's Club redistributes thousands of pairs of eyeglasses to those who cannot afford them. During Spring Break, the Lion's Club will be traveling to Mexico to redistribute eyeglasses to countless needy people, many of whom have lived their entire lives with impaired vision. Your team will help set up and run these redistribution clinics.
NICARAGUA - PARTNERS WORLDWIDE
This trip will be working with the Nehemiah Center for Transformational Development, helping businesspeople of Nicaragua to grow their businesses and to help increase economic development. You will learn about the business culture of Nicaragua and provide the people with the training they need to help their business. This trip is designed specifically for business majors, but if you have a specific interest in business please contact Dr. Mitchell for further information.
Over 750,000 children crowd orphanages across Russia. The Boaz Project's mission is geared directly toward the nurturing of Christ's love in these children's lives. Your team will work hand in hand with the Boaz Project in the Vladimir region of Russia, conducting Vacation Bible Schools and building relationships with orphans through crafts, games, music and more.
