The Charles Simeon Sermons

Today, Bible expositors and exposition are in short supply.  This shortage has led to a profound inability among Christians to identify substantive Bible teaching and understand its importance for the building of their faith.  This problem is of epidemic proportions.

The local church and its supporting agencies need a place where Bible exposition is modeled and taught.  The Charles Simeon Sermons are Taylor University's contribution toward answering this need by encouraging excellence in Bible exposition through the modeling and teaching of such preaching.

Image of R C LucasThe third annual Charles Simeon Sermons was held October 31 - November 3 with the Rev. R.C. Lucas as the featured expositor.

R.C. Lucas is the rector emeritus of St. Helen's Bishopsgate in the City of London.  Over the course of 35 years, the Lord used Rev. Lucas to grow St. Helen's from a handful of parishioners to one of the largest churches in London.

As one British minister puts it, "John Stott taught my generation what to preach.  Dick Lucas taught us how to preach."
