Responsibilities
The provost's office has been established to oversee and lead a holistic model of shared governance involving academic and student affairs faculty and students in standing committees organized to realize the objectives of the campus.
Faculty members are elected to committees by their divisions and student members are appointed to respective committees by the president of the Taylor Student Organization. Each faculty committee is responsible to the faculty at large. The faculty and committees also fulfill a vital advisory role to the Provost's Council and University Cabinet on general topics and issues related to students, programs, policy, budget and the administration of the University.
The responsibility of the faculty/student governance system is described in the Taylor University Faculty, Administrative and Staff Handbook. The institutional leadership model is guided by principles of servant and shared leadership, decentralization, collegiality, teamwork, and is in alignment with the AQIP categories of continuous improvement.
