Distinguished Faculty Lecture

Daniel King will present the lecture  A Caterpillar or a Butterfly:  Protein Biomarker Discovery and the Future of Medicine, addressing the powerful tool proteins are in early disease diagnosis.  Dr. King is the first recipient of the Distinguished Faculty Award of the School of Natural & Applied Sciences. 

The award will be presented to Dr. King during his lecture and a reception in his honor will follow.  In addition to Dr. King's recognition by Taylor University, he was recently named a co-investigator on the Pierce's Disease Research Grant from the California Department of Food and Agriculture.  Dr. King is using computer-based approaches to identify the best proteins that could be used against Pierce's Disease.

The lecture will take place Friday, May 1, at 4:00 p.m. in Nussbaum Science Center.
