Intramurals & Club Sports
As Taylor strives to provide an atmosphere conducive to academic excellence, it also strives to assist in "whole-life" formation of its students. Club sports and intramurals are one part of that "whole-life" equation and have proven to be something for which Taylor can be proud.
Lacrosse The Taylor University Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse teams participate in highly competitive intercollegiate play. Both teams strive to achieve excellence in their faith and respective leagues. The hiring of Cheyenne West as Director of Lacrosse Programs and Head Coach, allows for both clubs to be operated as varsity programs. Learn more about Lacrosse at Taylor.
Equestrian The team has been competing in the IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Association) shows for over twenty years. The riders learn and show Hunt Seat. Both male and female, equestrian team members share a love for horses and desire to increase their knowledge and ability of riding. We strive to glorify God through our riding and to exemplify Jesus Christ in our words, attitudes, and hard work. Learn more about the Equestrian Team.
Cycling The club is all about experiencing the simple joy that comes from riding a bicycle. We are a club open to both men and women of all skill levels and abilities. You must have your own bike as well as a helmet. As a club, we offer group road bike rides that vary from 15 to 30 miles and 15 - 25 mph as well as relaxed fun rides. A single-track mountain bike trail that was built by the club is located just 1.5 miles off campus for beginner and advanced mountain bikers. Our newest addition to the club is bike polo, playing two nights each week. Contact Chase Moore for more information.
Men's Volleyball This club plays one night a week and is open to all who are interested. We take a select group to tournaments on and off campus. For more information, contact Brad Peterson. The team is sponsored by Brittany Smith, Head Women's Volleyball Coach.
These activities are not official university athletics, but they continue to be a substantial part of the college experience at Taylor. Intramurals provide outlets not only for competition, but also for fellowship and teamwork. Some of Taylor's intramural sports include:
- Flag Football
- Ultimate Frisbee
