Lady Trojans Notch Six Wins at Spartan Classic

Two field event wins, two relay wins, and two individual track wins highlighted the Lady Trojans day at the Spartan Classic hosted by Manchester College.
Morgan Achterhoff opened the day with a leap of 17' 9" in the long jump for first place. Not long after Andrea Elsman claimed the triple jump title with a distance of 34'7".
Achterhoff was not finished as she anchored wins in both the 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay. In the 4x100, Cassie Vaflor, Christine Williams, and Stephanie Kenney set the stage for Achterhoff's run to the tape. Kenney, LaJoya Smith, and Alyssa Johnson joined Achterhoff in the 4x400 for the victory.
Kenney and Johnson preceded their efforts in the 4x400 with individual wins in the 400 (1:01.63) and 800 (2:19.16) respectively.
Next weekend the Lady Trojans will host the 2009 Mic-Central Conference Championships at the George Glass Track and Field Complex on Friday and Saturday.
