Elsman Leads Lady Trojans at DePauw

Andrea Elsman's vault of 11'7" won the meet, set a new track record, set a new Taylor school record, and qualified her for the NAIA Outdoor Championships as the Lady Trojans finished 7th at the 10-team DePauw Invitational.

Elsman's day was not just limited to the pole vault, because she also found time to place third in the triple jump.

Morgan Achterhoff's leap of 4.93 meters (16'2) put her in fourth place in the long jump, while Alyssa Johnson ran the 1500 meters in 4:46.79 for fifth place.

Achterhoff and Johnson were  joined by LaJoya Smith and Stephanie Kenney in the 4x400 meter relay to produce a fifth place finish in 4:10.50.

Meghan Young's 1:14.50 in the 400 meter hurdles placed seventh. Smith and Achterhoff placed seventh and eighth respectively in the 400 meter dash.

Next week the Lady Trojans compete in the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships at Indiana Wesleyan.
