Volleyball Sweeps IWU Invitational

Taylor volleyball picked up its 20th win of the season today by defeating Davenport 3-1 (25-11, 25-18, 20-25, 25-23) at the IWU Invitational. Earlier in the day the Trojans topped Ohio Dominican 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-15). The Trojans finished the weekend event 4-0 and improve its record to 20-3 (5-0 MCC) on the season.

Kelsey Pritchard and Rachel Kizer led the Trojans in the straight-set victory. Pritchard recorded 13 kills while Kizer added an errorless 13 attempts for 10 kills.
Betsy Brown recorded 37 assists without an error and nine digs.
Courtney Herschberger anchored the back line with 20 digs.
Taylor vs. Davenport
Davenport's third-set victory was the only set dropped by the Trojans on the weekend.
For the third time this season, Pritchard topped the 20-kill plateau pacing the Trojans with 22 and only six errors on 43 attempts.
Brown controlled the net with 37 assists and Herschberger once again toed the back line for a team-leading 14 digs.
Pritchard, Brown and Herschberger each lead the Mid-Central College Conference in their respective statistical categories.
Taylor travels to the University of Indianapolis on Tuesday to take on the 12th-ranked team in NCAA Div. II. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
