Volleyball: First Road Win in the Books

The Taylor volleyball team took to the road for the first time this season, and came away with a 3-0 sweep (25-17, 25-23, 25-12) of the hosts at the UM-Dearborn Early Bird Challenge in Dearborn, Michigan.
The match was the first of four that Taylor will play at the Early Bird Challenge today and Saturday.
Sophomore outside hitter Kelsey Pritchard pounded 16 kills to lead Taylor. Junior Jackie Geile's 15 kills, two aces, and three digs were key to the victory. Geile led Taylor by attacking at a clip of .560 for the match.
Directing the offense was sophomore setter Betsy Brown, who tallied 40 assists in the match.
Freshman Courtney Herschberger recorded 14 digs to lead Taylor in that category for the second straight contest. Six players registered blocks for the Trojans, with two from Bethany Beck leading Taylor.
Taylor's final match of the day is scheduled to begin at 3:15 pm against Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ill.).
