Softball Evens Record at 4-4

The Taylor University Lady Trojans split a road doubleheader on Saturday afternoon falling to Indiana University Southeast 9-3 in game one and winning game two, 4-3.
In game one senior pitcher Jill Tomaszewski threw for 4 1/3 innings before freshman Kristen Bauer took over in relief. Freshman Laura Strode and junior Liz Lewellen held the hot hand at the plate for the Trojans as they each went 2-for-4 from the plate with Lewellen recording a double.
Junior Jessica Fankhauser pitched a complete second game in which Taylor recorded a one-run victory. The bats came alive for three different Trojans in the second game. Sophomore Emily Kramer and senior Lindsey Arnold connected on two hits in four attempts while sophomore Maggie Burns went 2-for-3.
The Lady Trojans remain at .500 with a 4-4 record. They travel to Purdue North Central on Tuesday, March 17.
