Krause Announces First 2010-11 Signing
10.29.2009
Taylor University women's basketball head coach Tena Krause has announced the signing of Randolph Southern High School senior Paige Spencer for the 2010-11 season.
The 5-foot-11 Spencer averaged 8.1 points and 9.2 rebounds last season for the Rebels, giving them a strong inside presence. She was the team's leading rebounder each of the last two seasons. Able to play inside the paint or on the perimeter, Spencer will add versatility to the Taylor roster.
The Lynn, Ind., product has earned All-Sectional and All-County honors the past two seasons, in addition to being selected All-Conference following her junior year.
"I just loved everything about the campus," Spencer said following her signing. "This is something I've wanted for a very long time."
Lady Trojan head coach Tena Krause is looking forward to Spencer joining the team next season. "Paige brings with her a very aggressive and attacking style of game that is complemented by quickness and speed at her position. Her unselfishness, work ethic, will and desire to win are some of the great characteristics that she will bring to our team. She always seems to be trying to lift her teammates to help make them successful. We feel very blessed to have Paige Spencer joining our Taylor basketball family."
Spencer plans to major in sport management.
