Beachler Named First Team All-MCC

Sophomore Tyler Beachler earned a spot on the MCC men's soccer First-Team All-Conference list this week, as voted on by league coaches.

Tyler BeachlerThe Elgin, Ill., native finished the regular season ranked 11th in the NAIA in total goals scored (16) and tied for most in the conference.

From Sept. 30 - Oct. 14 he scored at least one goal in five consecutive matches, reaching as high as fifth in the country in goals scored.

A double overtime game-winning goal vs. Huntington in which Beachler returned from a 78-minute injury hiatus highlighted the hot streak. The goal ignited the Trojans to a 2-1 victory and was his 11th on the year, which surpassed the 10-goal total of his inaugural season that earned him second-team all-conference honors.

On Sept. 9 Beachler recorded his first career hat trick, netting three goals against Marygrove College; one of nine multi-goal showings of the season.

This Saturday, Beachler will lead the 7-10 (4-4 MCC) Trojans to Grace College for the first round of the Mid-Central College Conference tournament. Game time is slated for 3 p.m.
