Trojans Ranked 17th in Latest Top 25 Poll

The Taylor University volleyball team moved up three spots to No. 17 in this week's Tachikara-NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Volleyball Poll, the NAIA announced Tuesday.

Taylor (26-4) moved up more spots in the rankings than any other team in the country after claiming its third straight Mid-Central College Conference regular season championship with a 3-2 win at Spring Arbor last Thursday.

The Trojans went on to defeat No. 18 Madonna in a five-set thriller on their way to capturing the Madonna Crusader Classic tournament title over the weekend. The win over Madonna marked the second straight week that Taylor has defeated a Top 20 opponent on the road.

The No. 17 ranking is the highest for the Trojans during head coach Brittany Smith's five-year tenure.

Taylor hosts Huntington Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
