Johnson Receives Second MCC Honor

Alyssa Johnson has been selected as the Mid-Central College Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time this season, the league office announced Monday.

Johnson was honored for her sixth place finish in the 225-runner field at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Saturday.

A senior from Portland, Ind., Johnson covered the 5000-meter distance in 18:49 to lead the Lady Trojans to a seventh place team finish in the 21-team field.

The Lady Trojans are preparing for the MCC cross country championships to be contested on November 7 on the campus of IPFW.
