Schedule Set for ITA Championships

The Taylor women's doubles tandem of Kristin Goeke and Kaiti Marsh travel to Mobile, Ala., this weekend for the 2009 ITA National Small College Tennis Championships. The pair of seniors will open play on Thursday at 1:30 pm central time.
In the first round Goeke and Marsh will put their perfect 19-0 record on the line against Adriana Gonzalez and Giuliana Gonzalez of McKendree (Ill.) University. Regardless of the outcome of the opening match, the Taylor pair will play again on Thursday at 5:00 pm.
Each of the eight teams in the championships is guaranteed to play three matches, with the third being played on Friday, Oct. 16 at either 3:30 or 5:00. At the conclusion of the tournament, places one through eight will be determined.
Goeke and Marsh reached the ITA National Championships by winning three straight matches last month at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in Cedarville, Ohio.
It is the first appearance in Mobile for either player, and it is believed to be the first appearance ever by a Taylor women's doubles team at the National Championships.
The top seeded team in the tournament is Katia Sabate and Vanessa Heroux of Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University.
