Pair of Trojans Recognized by MCC

A pair of Taylor University volleyball players were honored Monday by the Mid-Central College Conference after the 24th-ranked Trojans posted a 4-1 record last week.

Betsy Brown (Adrian, Mich./Lenawee Christian) was named the MCC Setter of the Week for the third time this season after recording 181 assists, 30 digs, 6 aces, and 6 blocks in five matches last week. The MCC leader in assists, Brown is ranked 21st in the NAIA with 10.2 assists per set.

For the fourth consecutive week Courtney Herschberger (Goshen, Ind./Fairfield) has been recognized as the MCC Libero of the Week after collecting 136 digs in Taylor's five matches a week ago. The freshman had a team-high 19 digs in a 3-2 win over Campbellsville University, a team that is receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll.

Taylor (14-3, 3-0 MCC) will host Indiana Wesleyan University on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.
