Trojans Win Six Events at Manchester

Dave Voss's NAIA qualifying effort in the 400 meter hurdles led the men's track and field team on Saturday at the Spartan Classic hosted by Manchester College. Voss also claimed a win as part of the 4x100 relay squad along with Scott Gill, Bryan Allingham, and Andy Marston.

pabodyKyle Cassidy won the 400 meters in 50.77, Michael Pabody took the 1500 meters with a time of 4:02.89, Matt Bane's 10:02.57 led the 3000 meter steeplechase, and Randy Magnuson tripled jumped 42'4" for a victory.

Other strong performances came from Tim Voss and Cory Anderson who placed third and fourth in the triple jump behind Magnuson; JP Robles sailed the javelin to a second place; Anderson and Voss placed second and third in the 110 meter hurdles as did Tom Robertson and Isaac Bryan in the 5000 meters; Andy Marston and Nate Kirsch pulled off the same in the 800 meters; and Scott Gill nabbed second in the 100 meter dash.

The Trojans will be hosting the 2009 Mid-Central Conference Championships next Friday and Saturday at the George Glass Track and Field Complex.
