Trojans on Top at Emory
March 27, 2009
The Trojan track and field squad were on top of the standings at the end of day one at the Emory Classic, but thunderstorms cancelled Saturday's schedule sending TU home at the end of their Spring Break trip.
TU used depth by taking multiple places in several events to notch 30 points after Friday's competition.
In the high jump the Trojans placed 2nd, 4th, and 5th behind the efforts of Scott Gill, Tim Voss, and Cory Anderson.
TU grabbed 3rd and 8th in the 3000 meter steeplechase with Tom Robertson and Matt Bane producing great performances.
JP Robles and Josh Finch took 4th and 8th respectively in the javelin throw.
Brian Tencher claimed first place in his section of the 800 meter run, but because some sections were scheduled for Saturday points were not given.
This Saturday the Trojans will visit DePauw for the DePauw Invititational.
