Dr. Don Taylor is entering his fifteenth year as the head coach of the Taylor University men's tennis program.

During the past fourteen seasons, Taylor has led his squad to a combined 170-113 regular season record, five MCC regular season championships and four Mid-Central College Conference tournament championships.  They qualified for the NAIA Region 8 Tournament six times with one Region 8 Championship and they qualified for the NAIA Regional's three times.  Taylor has been named MCC Coach of the Year three times.

Taylor earned his bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University in health and physical education and his master's in exercise physiology from Springfield College in 1979. In 1992, he completed his doctorate in higher education at Penn State.

From 1979-1991, Taylor taught at Lock Haven University. While at Lock Haven, he spent nine years as an assistant basketball coach and also served as an assistant athletic director for 3 ½ years.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Taylor is also a professor of Physical Education, Human Performance. A certified USPTA instructor, Taylor continues to play competitive tennis. Twelve of his former players are or have been teaching or coaching tennis.

Taylor and his wife, Joyce, who works in the development office at Taylor, have two grown children. The couple resides in Hartford City, Ind.
