2009 Season Preview
The 2009 Trojan harriers enter the season with some serious goals in mind and plenty of motivation to accomplish them. In 2008, the team was consistently ranked in the NAIA's Top 25, but fell to 28th as the season ended and failed to land an at-large berth to the NAIA Championships.
With six of their top seven runners returning including their top four, the Trojans are prepared to leave no doubt in anyone's mind that they belong in Portland, Oregon, site of this year's NAIA national meet, in November.
Michael Pabody and Tom Robertson, both seniors, qualified for the national meet, with Pabody finishing 31st and Robertson crossing in 78th. This duo along with fellow senior Jeff Hubley will provide strong leadership both on the course and off.
Juniors Isaac Bryan, Matt Bane, and Adam Schroer must continue to build upon their first two seasons to provide TU with the depth needed to claim a Mid-Central College Conference championship and the accompanying trip to Portland.
Fellow juniors Brian Tencher and Nate Kirsch along with sophomore Tim Griffiths will look to further their development with hopes of cracking the top seven.
Head Coach Ted Bowers hopes his trio of incoming freshmen are ready to take on the 8K distance. Caleb Pack, Corbin Slater, and Logan Campbell bring much promise to the Trojan roster.
