Women's Soccer Season Ends in Michigan

The Taylor women's soccer season came to an end Saturday at the hands of Spring Arbor in the first round of the Mid-Central College Conference tournament.

The 1-0 loss was the second of the season to Spring Arbor (5-1, Oct. 3) and snapped a three-game winning streak for the Trojans. Taylor finishes with an overall record of 7-10-1.

The two teams battled evenly for much of the game until the Cougars' Kristin Abbott broke the scoreless tie in the 62nd minute on an assist from Becca Szopo.

Goalkeeper Shawna Lane anchored the defense for the Trojans with five saves.

The Trojans were outshot 13-6 by the Cougars. Four of Taylor's shots were on goal as Allison Guion lead the way with three shots.
