TU XC Trio Leads Trojans

October 24, 2009

The Taylor men's cross country placed 7th at the Great Lakes Invitational hosted by Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The TU trio of Isaac Bryan, Michael Pabody and Tom Robertson continued to pace the Trojans as they were all in the top 25 of the 250-runner field.

MPBryan grabbed 17th in 26:00, Pabody was just two spots back in 19th at 26:02, and Robertson took 25th with a time of 26:13.

Freshman Corbin Slater again filled Taylor's fourth spot with a 45th place finish in 26:50, a new PR. Brian Tencher rounded out the top five in 80th place at 27:42. Jeff Hubley's 28:00 was good enough for 90th place and Matt Bane claimed 106th in 28:26.

Coach Ted Bowers enjoyed watching the success of his Trojans, "This is the first time in about five weeks we have raced healthy and it really showed. The guys were excellent in their focus on racing, not worrying so much about times, but really racing out there. On a cold, wet day, we were able to have a great day."

The Trojans take next weekend off from competition before ending the regular season at the Mid-Central College championships to be contested on Nov. 7 on the campus of IPFW.
