Trojans Take Second at MCC Tournament

Taylor finished second in the Mid-Central College Conference tournament this weekend to end its 2009 season.

The Trojans entered Saturday's finals tied with Indiana Wesleyan in the team standings but managed just a 3-4 record on the final day of action finishing three points behind the Wildcats.

Sophomore Germania Bedon highlighted Taylor's matches on the #1 singles court with an upset of Marian's Paola Usina 6-1, 6-1. In two regular season matches Usina had the upper hand, but Bedon breezed past her fellow Ecuadorian native in the finals.

Seniors Kristin Goeke and Kaiti Marsh teamed up to win the #1 doubles championship. Goeke also nabbed a title in the #2 singles flight.

Bedon, Goeke and Marsh were all named to the MCC All-Conference team following the tournament.
