Men's Cross Country Third at Little State

The 24th-ranked Taylor men's cross country team finished third Friday in the 14-team Little State race at the 2009 Indiana Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships hosted by Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Ind.
Crossing the finish line first for Taylor was junior Isaac Bryan, who placed sixth with a time of 26:44. Right behind behind Bryan in eighth place was senior Michael Pabody in 26:56.
Tom Robertson (27:39), Corbin Slater (27:48), and Jeff Hubley (28:50) rounded out the top five for head coach Ted Bowers' squad.
Competing against NCAA Div. II and III programs in addition to other NAIA teams, Taylor finished with a score of 114 behind only DePauw (74) and champion Manchester (49).
Taylor was the top NAIA school in the Little State Meet, finishing ahead of 13th-ranked Huntington (168). Indiana Wesleyan (118) came in right behind the Trojans in fourth place.
In the overall Big State Meet results, Taylor finished ninth out of the 20 teams that competed. Indiana University won the Big State Meet with 20 points.
Taylor's next race is set for Saturday, Oct. 3 at the IWU Wildcat Invitational.
