Johnson Advances to Finals of 1,500

Alyssa Johnson crossed the finish line in the prelims of the 1,500 meter run Thursday in 4:38.29 at the 2009 NAIA Track & Field National Championships in Edwardsville, Illinois. The junior finished sixth in her heat and advanced to the finals of the event on Saturday at 3:00 pm CST.
Pole Vaulter Andrea Elsman cleared her opening height of 10' 11 ¾", but missed on the next height as she finished in 22nd place.
The Taylor women's track team will be idle on day two of the championships, with Johnson competing again in the 1,500 meter run on Saturday.
