Trojans 6th at NCCAA; 4x400 Repeats Title

The Taylor track and field team placed 6th at the 15-team NCCAA Championships hosted by IWU. The team was paced by a repeat title in the 4 x 400 relay as TU's quartet sped to a time of 3:15.48.

The Trojans scored their points in bunches starting with the 3000 meter steeplechase. Tom Robertson and Matt Bane combined for 14 points with their 2-3 finish. Robertson clocked a 9:23.61, while Bane posted a 9:57.61, both personal bests.

TU place three athletes in the 400 meter dash as Bryan Allingham, Andy Marston, and Eric Nystrom grabbed the third, sixth, and eighth positions for 10 points.

Allingham and Martson were joined by Dave Voss and Scott Gill in the 4x100 relay where the quartet finished third in 42.30.

Cory Anderson cleared the 110 meter hurdles in 15.14 to capture another third place for TU. Anderson added a seventh place in the high jump where Scott Gill finished fifth.

Isaac Bryan had a productive day, placing fifth in the 800 meter run and sixth in the 1500 meter run.

Dave Voss finished fourth in the 400 hurdles at 55.98, while Mark Beckford earned an eighth place finish in the triple jump as did JP Robles in the javelin.

Voss, Allingham, and Marston were joined by Kyle Cassidy in the 4 x 400 relay for the Trojans' only victory of the weekend.
