Addison Earns MSFA Mideast League Honor
09.21.2009
Taylor junior quarterback Shaun Addison (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon) has been named the Mid-States Football Association Mideast League Offensive Player of the Week, the MSFA announced Monday.
Addison had career bests in passing yards (320) and rushing yards (139) in Taylor's 38-23 win over St. Francis (Ill.) on Saturday. He accounted for four touchdowns in the game, three of which came through the air and one on the ground.
At 6-2, 202 lbs., Addison led Taylor's offense to its highest single-game scoring (38 points) output since 2002 by breaking a 17-year-old school record for total offense in a game with 459 yards. The previous mark was held by Kenny Locke, who had 382 total yards against Manchester in 1992.
Addison threw touchdown passes to three different receivers, with a long scoring play of 57 yards.
A psychology major, the second-year starter connected on 20 of 34 passes with no interceptions against St. Francis.
Taylor (2-1) returns to action on Oct. 3 when they host No. 14 Saint Xavier (Ill.).
