CRAM Professors
Dr. Jeff Cramer
Dr. Jeff Cramer is a professor of computer science at Taylor University. He recieved his PhD in Educational Technology at Purdue University and was the recipient of Taylor's 2009 Distinguished Professor of the Year award. He and his wife Jane have three children.
Dr. Steve Baarendse
Steve grew up as a TEAM missionary kid in Vienna, Austria. He attended Taylor’s Summer Honors Program as a high school student and eventually studied English and Art at Taylor. He has graduate degrees from Indiana University in comparative literature and art history and has taught at Black Forest Academy in Germany. He currently teaches English and Humanities at Columbia International University in South Carolina. His passion is to challenge students to read and to think “Christianly” about all of culture.
Dr. James Spiegel
Dr. Spiegel is a professor of philosophy at Taylor University. He also coaches the Ethics Bowl Team, plays in a band, and writes. He has published six books, over 20 articles, and other publications. He and his wife Amy have four children.
Dr. Thomas Jones
Dr. Jones, Dean of the the School of Liberal Arts, is also an associate professor of history. He has been named Taylor’s Distinguished Professor of the Year twice. His special areas of scholarship include American political and diplomatic history and social studies education. He has also been the minister of Center Christian Church for more than 35 years. He and his wife, Carolyn, have two children.
Dr. John Moore
Dr. John Moore is a professor of biology at Taylor University and is in charge of Taylor's Ecuador programs. He has published seventeen articles in various academic journals. He was the 2007 Taylor Professor or the Year and was named a Fullbright Scholar in 2011.
Dr. Dennis Hensley
Dr. Dennis Hensley is the director of the professional writing program at Taylor. He is the author of 51 books, more than 150 short stories, and 3,000 newspaper and magazine articles. He is a contributing editor and columnist for Writer’s Journal and Advanced Christian Writer. He and his wife Rose have two married children and three grandchildren.
