TU Academic Summer Camps

June 10-15, 2018

What's your passion?

Taylor University offers high school students who have completed their sophomore or junior year the opportunity to pursue their passions this summer. Our academic summer camps allow students to spend a week on Taylor's campus and learn more about their interests from our experienced professors. Engage your faith with your passion and challenge yourself to pursue Christ through what you love to do this summer.

Choose from one of our three academic camps:

  • Ethics & Apologetics Academy

Are human beings special? What are our moral duties based upon? Does religion belong in the public square? Is faith in God even rational?

Spend a week analyzing the works of thinkers like St. Augustine, C. S. Lewis, and Tim Keller in Taylor University's Ethics & Apologetics Academy. In this academic summer camp, you will integrate faith and rearson through deep discussions with fellow young scholars and experienced thinkers while building your critical thinking skills. Engage your mind with the most profound questions of our time, and discover how the biblical Christian worldview is not only reasonable but also profoundly practical for addressing these questions.

Register today and join the week-long discussion, starting June 10th.

  • Taylor Film Academy

Plunge into the world of film and media production with Taylor University's hands-on Film Academy. Fueled by your own creativity, this film production week will emphasize great storytelling through film scripting and digging deep into post-production editing. Get exposure to our extensive equipment inventory with an on-set immersion experience while being mentored by our experienced faculty members. Cap off your week by watching your work on the big screen.

Openings for the Taylor Film Academy are limited to the first 16 registrants. Register today.

2019 Sneak Peek — Film Academy 2019 will emphasize pre-production planning (storyboards, shot lists, auditioning actors), hands-on production (field sound, camera/lighting equipment, effective crew functioning), and new opportunities for the on-set immersion experience.

  • Musical Theatre Academy

Experience what it means to thrive on the stage with Taylor University's Musical Theatre Academy. This musical theatre camp focuses on the triple-threat of Broadway musical theatre: acting, voice, and dance. Work one-on-one with Taylor Theatre's Managing & Artistic Director as she coaches you through staging and believable acting. Hone your singing performance in vocal workshops and individual lessons, and learn choreography in dance intensives. Finish the week with a showcase in Mitchell Theater.

In addition to sharpening your general stage presence and performance, our experienced Music, Theatre, & Dance faculty will teach you how best to prepare your body, mind, and resume for your upcoming theatre arts or musical theatre audition.

Tech track: Students interested in behind-the-scenes theatre work are welcomed to join Musical Theatre Academy to design sets, costume actors, and manage the stage. No performance can be produced without a strong tech team!

Performers and technicians of all skills levels are encouraged to register for Musical Theatre Academy.

Camp check-in begins at 7 pm on Sunday, June 10.

Cost: $400 per student until May 1. After May 1, the registration fee is $450.
