How to apply for the Direct PLUS Loan
The parent who is applying must have a FAFSA PIN. Parent must also be a natural parent, adoptive parent, or a step-parent of the dependent student.
The application process will require the parent to complete 2 seperate easy steps in order to apply for the Direct PLUS loan.
There are 2 steps in order to complete your Direct PLUS Parent Loan.
*When requesting your loan, make sure to request the full amount needed for the entire 09-10 academic year - add both Fall and Spring semesters. DO NOT request only one semester as your loan period unless your student is planning to graduate in December or January.
Step 1:
PLEASE DO NOT HAND WRITE YOUR ANSWERS ON THE FORM - This form enables you to type in the answers; however, it cannot be submitted online. You must print it, sign it, and fax it to us at 765-998-4910.

This form must include all requested information. Please make sure you correctly enter Social Security Numbers, as this seems to be the most common error.
If you have trouble opening the .pdf form, please make sure your Adobe Reader is up to date. You can download it FREE by clicking HERE. If you still have problems, please try a different computer.
Did we receive your FAX? You can check at https://myfa.taylor.edu at the Documents tab. Give us a few hours from the time you have sent it, then check the website. (If it has been sent after our business hours, check the following afternoon, if sent on the weekend, check the following Monday afternoon.) If it says 1st PLUS loan "Received" or "Not Reviewed", then you can rest assured we have received your fax.
Step 2:
You must have a FAFSA PIN in order to sign the eMPN. If you are not the Parent with the FAFSA PIN, you may apply for one at www.pin.ed.gov . Once you have completed this process, our office will complete the loan approval with the Department of Education.
SIGN YOUR ELECTRONIC MASTER PROMISSORY NOTE HERE You will be notified by the Dept. of Education on the credit approval / denial status of your loan.
We will log the MPN in on https://myfa.taylor.edu at the Documents tab as soon as we receive receive confirmation from the Dept of Ed. You will see "DL PLUS MPN received" when we have the information.
There is nothing further you will need to do. The loan process is complete. The funds will disperse into your student's account in the Bursar's Office. If you have any questions about your student's account or billing, please contact the Bursar at 765-998-5123, or bursar@taylor.edu .
