Public Health

Public Health = public help

What is Public Health? Consider the air we breathe, the water we drink, the effects of disease or food poisoning among communities and how diet and nutrition can affect large people groups. Issues like these are complex and require a knowledge base comprised of multiple areas of study. Public Health leverages the expertise of several health-related professions to address critical family and community health issues. Simply put, public health helps the public.

The behavioral sciences, health education, biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, and health services administration are all areas of study that inform Public Health. Through this collaborative approach, Public Health professionals can bring information, awareness and solutions to families and communities to improve their health and wellness.
