Physics and Engineering Department

 

The department of Physics and Engineering at Taylor University equips students with the ability to obtain knowledge and understanding about the physical world for use in research, graduate studies, and a variety of careers.  Areas of study include physics, astronomy, engineering, and physical science.  The department is highly involved in areas of research such as space physics, theoretical high energy physics, acoustics, advanced engineering instrumentation, and microelectronics.  Key characteristics of Taylor’s Physics and Engineering department include:

  • The Science Research Training Program (SRTP), providing a unique opportunity for students to be involved with scientific research.  Contracts include work with NASA, National Science Foundation, Environmental Protection Agency, US Air Force, Lockheed Martin, and the National Institute of Health.
  • A required practicum or directed research experience
  • An ABET accredited Engineering Physics program
