Earth and Environmental Science (ENS) Department
The Earth and Environmental Science department at Taylor University seeks to develop critical thinking skills characteristic of a scientific mind in a setting that nurtures an ethic of Christian stewardship and an attitude of service to God, His creation, and society. Key characteristics of Taylor’s EES program include:
- A strong curriculum of basic science and specialized courses in biology, ecology, geology, and hydrology
- The Randall environmental Science Center located on a 145-arboretum and near a 20-acre prairie restoration effort
- Summer field study opportunities in the Black Hills of South Dakota
- Research opportunities with faculty and graduate students
- A 4+1 option allowing environmental science majors to complete both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in five years
- A faculty devoted to environmental stewardship, who are well researched and published
