Once you have decided on Art as your major, there are several areas of concentration you may choose to study within the field. Here are your options as an Art major at Taylor:

Majors:

Bachelor of Arts Degree:

This degree requires 56-59 credit hours. Along with taking classes within your specialized field, Art majors also participate in our core courses. These classes lay an important foundation which serves to enhance your abilities in whatever concentration you choose. We offer concentrations in the following areas:

  • Concentration in 2D Studio
  • Concentration in 3D Studio
  • Concentration in Graphic Design
  • Concentration in Photography

Bachelor of Science Degrees:

Art Education:

The Art Education program is designed to prepare students to acquire their teaching certification in art and requires at least 80 credit hours of professional education and art courses. With this degree, you will not only grow as an artist but also learn how to teach and inspire others. (A concentration in Visual Arts is also available with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.)

Art/Systems:

This degree requires 97-102 credit hours and incorporates classes outside the study of art itself to broaden your career possibilities.

Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in art will also choose from among the concentrations listed below:

Minor:

To receive a minor in Studio Art, you must complete 21 credit hours, choosing from both the core and concentration classes.
