- The U.S. Government-produced Country Studies series
covering about 100 nations - Portals to the world
a gateway produced by the Library of Congress to various information links on many countries - Country Monitor series and Country Report series
from the Economist Intelligence Unit - Columbia International Affairs Online
CIAO bills itself as "the most comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs." It lists materials from a wide variety of sources, such as think tanks and NGOs, in addition to books and periodicals. Find it on the Alphabetical List of Databases. - The Internet Public Library
provides a valuable rich clearinghouse for web-sites on many topics. See especially the page that directs to Regional and Country Information. In addition, IPL may provide the most comprehensive guide to online international newspapers.
