Article Mentioned in Chapel: The Next Meltdown
01.17.2007
Here's a link to the recent, brief TIME article that Campus Pastor Randy
Gruendyke mentioned in his chapel address on Wednesday, January 17th which he suggested as a thoughtful conversation starter.
"The article reflects on the financial crisis following the 1914 assassination of Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand and imagines a scenario in which a similar chain of events could happen in 2007. Due to the overall liquidity enjoyed by financial markets worldwide, the author contends that this poses an increased risk for a shutdown akin to the Stock Market Crash of 1929, should political events take a drastic turn."

Ferguson, Niall. "TheNext Meltdown." Time 169.3 (2007): 60
