Reserve

Using Reserve Items

All Reserve Materials are held behind the Circulation Desk, and you must inquire at the Circulation Desk if you wish to check out any of this material.  The Reserve Collection is a closed stacks collection, meaning that it is not accessible for patrons to browse on their own.

Reserve Materials are in the process of being added to the Online Library Catalog. Searching for these materials in the Catalog is straightforward:

  • In the "Limit search to" section near the bottom of the Advanced Search screen, select "Reserve Materials" from the Collection dropdown menu (bottom right side of page).
  • At this point, you can enter terms into the Search boxes. You can search by Author or Keyword or Title (choose any of those options from the drop-down menu next to the Search boxes).
  • Click on the Search button to view your search results.

Items on Reserve are identified in the Catalog by the term "Reserves: [Enter Professor's Name]" in the "Check for Copies" link. Also, when you click the "Check for Copies" link, you will see the Item Status as "Reserve Loan - 3 Hours." In the Call Number area, you'll see the Professor's Name, along with the course (i.e., COM 230).

Ask at the Checkout Desk if you have questions about finding Reserve Materials.
