Transition to Teaching

The Transition to Teaching program is designed for those individuals who have a degree from an accredited institution of higher education and decide they wish to pursue a teaching license.  The Transition to Teaching program is a graduate level program.  It is administered through the Taylor University Education Department, and all courses are offered through Taylor University: Online.  This Online program allows for individual candidate flexibility as one progresses toward state licensure. Individuals desiring a secondary license will complete an 18-hour course of study.  A secondary license is only available in the content area in which you obtained the undergraduate degree.  Those desiring an elementary license will complete a 24-hour course of study. Candidates must meet all state licensure requirements of the Indiana Department of Education.  A full ten-week student teaching experience is a mandatory component of either program.
