Special Education Licensure Program
A Special Education Mild Intervention program has been approved by the Indiana Department of Education to be offered as a license by the Taylor Education Department.
The Special Education-Mild Intervention program is an additional licensure program to the existing K-6 Generalist Elementary Education Program. A candidate will be licensed to teach regular K-6 grades as well as special education-mild intervention classes in the elementary grades.
The program consists of four additional courses:
- SED 330, Foundations of Special Education;
- SED 340, Assessment of Exceptional Learners;
- SED 350, Behavioral Management;
- and SED 355, Methods of Special Education.
The second student teaching experience will be with a licensed special education teacher.
Early program planning is essential to complete the program in four years. Candidates may contact the Education Department for further information and course guides for the program.
