Media Communication

Media Communication

The media communication program prepares you to create truthful and redemptive messages for a variety of media. That could mean film, television, news journalism, public relations, radio, newspapers, the web, magazines or whatever technology is coming next. Students are solidly grounded in a Christian worldview and share a sincere desire to transform and influence culture.

Concentrations

All media communication students take classes in communication theory and digital media including a cross-section of production, writing, web design and graphic design courses. Beyond the core, students pick a concentration, often in their sophomore year:

Media Production or Media Production/Film

  • Preparing filmmakers, producers, directors, editors, and screenwriters to create excellent and redemptive stories. Media production students who spend a semester at the Los Angeles Film Studies Center add a film emphasis to their media production concentration.

Media Writing

  • Enabling writers to craft messages with insight, Christian ethics and compassion. More than just a journalism program, our media writing students are versatile, writing for print, broadcast, web, audio/radio and film.

Public Relations

  • Preparing public relations professionals to communicate truthfully and responsibly. Public relations became a new concentration as of the 2006-2007 school year and has grown rapidly.
