Philosophy at Taylor University: Know and Be Known
When you study philosophy at Taylor University, you will be in a place where both academics and community are taken very seriously. You will have well-trained professors who are as interested in your spiritual formation as they are in your intellectual development. As you do philosophical inquiry about everything from ethics and apologetics to art and popular culture, you will be pushed to ask questions and search honestly for answers, exploring the resources God has given us in His Word and in the community of believers past and present. In short, you will learn what it means to know from a Christian perspective. And as you work through real-life questions, you will develop skills that open up career paths where you can use your gifts to the fullest.
Also, expect to be known. At Taylor we not only preach "intentional community," we live it. The residence life program at TU is nationally known and focuses on the growth of the whole person. But community doesn't stop in the residence halls; professors also take it seriously. The philosophy faculty will get to know you both inside and outside the classroom. From advising to talking over coffee to "hanging out" at a prof's house, you will find that the TU "intentional community" includes your professors.
As you think about your journey, think about philosophy at Taylor, where you will know and be known.
