Personal Information
Dr. Brad Seeman joined the Taylor community in 2006 after teaching at Judson University for a number of years and has found an intellectual and spiritual home among colleagues who are also passionate about exploring issues at the intersection of philosophy and theology.
Dr. Seeman's own areas of research include metaethical questions about the ways in which God grounds moral obligations, difficulties facing Materialists who seek to ground objective moral obligations in a world without God, and how Christians can respond to the tough questions we are sometimes asked. Dr. Seeman also has a lively interest in contemporary continental philosophy and the ways in which architectural theory and philosophy interact. Additionally, he is currently revisiting his earlier work in Church History for an essay to be published in a book Dr. D. A. Carson is editing for Eerdmans Press.
Brad met his wife, Kiersten, at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield in 1993. They were married in 1994 and have been blessed with five children: Grace, Emma, Luke, Elias and Josiah. They live on a 20 acre farmette three miles from the Taylor campus.
Perhaps Brad's favorite activity is taking walks on country roads with Kiersten and the family dog, Nestle. He also enjoys doing nearly anything outside with the kids: cycling, volleyball, singing, playing guitar, reading Scripture on the front deck, having friends over, and pizza/movie nights with Kiersten and the kids. Indeed, having been born and raised in the Chicago area, Brad considers himself something of a deep dish pizza connoisseur, and in his considered judgment Kiersten makes the best pizza in Grant County, Indiana.
