The Provost serves as the chief academic, program and planning officer of the university and chief operating officer of the Upland campus. Reporting to the President, this position has overall responsibility for administering the institution's undergraduate and graduate-level educational programs, policies and personnel, and assumes CEO responsibilities in the absence of the President. The President may delegate authority to the Provost to administer a variety of routine University activities as well as unique assignments of a special nature. 

Directly reporting to the Provost are the dean of the School of Liberal Arts, dean of the School of Natural Sciences, dean of the School of Professional and Graduate Studies, dean of the School of Business, associate provost and dean of international studies, the dean of student development, the associate vice president for information technology, the athletic director, the institutional research analyst and the administrative assistant to the provost.

The Provost is expected to keep the University mission, purposes, core values, statement of faith, and Life Together Covenant at the center of the academic and student affairs programs and ensure their integration into all aspects of Taylor's living and learning covenant community.
